Before the spindle design process begins, we need to understand the machine it will go into.

Speed, stiffness, load capacity, accuracy, error motion, thermal stability, mounting, controls, environmental conditions, and integration requirements all influence spindle design. But specifications alone don't always tell the complete story.

Understanding how the OEM's machine operates, what its customers expect, and where precision motion fits into overall performance gives our engineering team the context needed to develop the right solution.

That makes the early stages of successful projects inherently collaborative.

Instead of simply selecting a spindle from a catalog, the OEM and ABTech can work through the application together, identify requirements, discuss challenges, evaluate options, and develop a spindle suited to the system it will ultimately become part of.

The application requirements become engineering decisions. Engineering decisions become drawings and specifications. Components are manufactured, assembled, tested, measured, and validated until a finished spindle is ready to become part of the machine.
